You had a lot of valid points.
We are creating binders for the District events and trying to include notes for next year to keep improving the way events are run.
RANGES:
We do need to cut off the line for the ranges, both BB and Archery, when the second to last group enters the range. I got complaints from people in line at the BB range when I announced the last group had just entered the range. I hadn't even thought of that but I will document it for next year.
Again, it would be easier to do things like this with more volunteers, trained or not. We needed more den chiefs to do little tasks like this and let the range officers focus on safely running the range.
More trained range officers would translate to larger ranges and shorter lines.
GAMES:
A map may help keep campers outside the games area, even though they were given instructions. Just like people were told not to park on the grass! Maybe some rope or cones around the games area would also help define it better.
Cones and rope might help define a space for each game as well.
PACKET:
We need the schedule, even if it's a tentative one from last year, in the registration packet. There is always someone new to every event so we need to explain what happens at Cub-N-Family. Then we could post a final schedule on the website or hand out an updated schedule at registration with times on it.
Thank you for your feedback!
